This page gives a brief overview about how to setup your e-book on your computer.  You will also find at the bottom of this page a way to download a copy of the instruction and trouble shooting manuals if you would like to review them.  This can be helpful for those individuals who are considering to order our book and wish to investigate what is involved to install your copy of our e-book.  Similarly, for for those individuals who have already ordered our book and are waiting for it to arrive in your home or office (the CD versions with or without the floppy diskette), you also might want to do some advanced reading. 

 
Installation Steps

1)  You must have a copy at least of Adobe Reader® (or Acrobat®) release "5" or "6".  Perhaps you already have this program on your PC.  If you do not, you can obtain a free copy of Adobe Reader® (release 6) by clicking below:

2)  No matter which version you have ordered, the e-book file is called: CSExplore-ebook.exe.  We suggest you create a special directory on your computer to store your e-book.  For example it could be named C:/csexplorer or you can place this directory within “My Documents” if you using Windows XP or Windows 2000 on your system.  The version of our e-book that includes a CD and with a floppy diskette must be installed on your computer's hard drive to read this version of our e-book,  In any case, we have found in our tests that you can read your e-book much faster if you place your copy there anyway.

3)  If you have purchased a version that requires you to be connected to the internet to validate your copy, you only have to be linked to the internet initially until this validation process is successful.  At this point, you can disconnect. 

4)  If you have purchased the version of our e-book that you downloaded from our website, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you save the email you will receive from our copy protection company (Digilox) that has your logon and password.  You will be asked only the first time when you attempt to read your e-book, for this logon and password. 

     If you have purchased the version that requires the floppy diskette to validate your e-book, again you will need to have this diskette handy during the first time you attempt to read your e-book as you will be asked to insert it into the disk drive.  Thereafter, you will not be prompted for this diskette.  Please keep it in a safe location, so you do not lose it.   (However, please note, that if you decide to relocate your e-book for the two versions of e-book discussed in this point, you will need to re-use again either the login/password or floppy diskette to setup your e-book on the new computer.  

5)  For each version of our book, we have provided an instruction and trouble-shooting manual.  These manuals are stored in an Adobe PDF format.  We have done our best to explain in simple terms how the e-book system operates.  If you did not receive a copy of these manuals for your e-book, you can download it from the links below:
